If ever we had an opportunity to redeem the time, it’s now.
So much of our time slips away in the busyness of daily life, a life that has temporarily gone into very slow motion.
If you have kids at home from school, you may be busier than ever, but if not, you likely have more time on your hands than you know what to do with.
We’ve all watched the idiocy of people trying to hoard stuff they don’t need. But are we hoarding the most valuable commodity we have, which is our time? Can we not share some with the Lord?
If there’s one thing the church in our culture needs, it’s a deeper relationship with God. And, like any other relationship, it requires an investment of time. Time that many of us now have.
If God wants to upset the applecart of our daily rhythm, he sure knows how to do it. But it’s not random. It’s for a reason.
God may be using a virus to shake the foundations of our self-assured secular society. But he may equally be using it to draw a powerless church back to himself.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m speaking to myself as much as to anyone else. But if we miss this opportunity, when is another one like it going to come along?
And I will guarantee this. For every minute you spend in the presence of the Lord, the peace that passes understanding will begin to flow in your spirit to the point where you wished you could stay longer.
And other things in your life will suddenly start to come right.
And all you did was give a few minutes to the One who, after all, gave you every second you have ever lived.
And the return on your investment, unlike just about any other asset at the moment, will make you a very rich person in the only way that counts.
